Ajmal Mian

Founding Partner

Mr Mian qualified as a solicitor in 1980 and established Mian & Co in 1983. Mr Mian comes from an esteemed legal background. His father was a Barrister, called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn in 1961.

Mr Mian has decades of experience in all aspects of Criminal proceedings. He is a Solicitor-Advocate with Higher Rights of Audience allowing him to represent clients in the Crown Court. He is also one of the few solicitors in Birmingham to have completed the Bar’s Forensic Accounting course.

Mr Mian has always taken a keen interest in training the next generation of criminal solicitors, and many leading criminal solicitors in Birmingham were trained by him. He estimates that more than 100 lawyers have qualified as solicitors or accredited police station representatives under his training, and that no other solicitor has trained more criminal lawyers in Birmingham or the Midlands.

Tanweer Mian

Managing Partner

Mrs Mian is the managing partner at Mian & Co and also the firm’s Compliance Officer for Legal Practice. She qualified as a solicitor in 1983 and is a Duty Solicitor and Police Station Representative with a wide array of experience in all aspects of Criminal proceedings.

Shanaz Begum

Solicitor

Mrs Begum is a solicitor with Higher Rights of Audience. She is a Duty Solicitor with comprehensive trial experience, as well as a Police Station Representative.

Adil Khan

Solicitor 

Mr Khan is a Duty Solicitor and Police Station Representative. He advises clients at the Police Station and appears before Courts and Tribunals across the country on a daily basis, and has a focus on serious organised crime/fraud and complex criminal cases. Mr Khan is also the Prison Law Supervisor and represents clients before the Parole Board and adjudication hearings at prisons across the UK.

Gill Morris

Clerk

Mrs Morris is a highly-experienced clerk specialising in the preparation of serious cases in the Crown Court. She works closely with some of the top criminal barristers in the country to advise clients charged with the most serious criminal offences.

Michelle Kemp

Practice Manager

Ms Kemp is the Practice Manage and an integral part of the management team. Her responsibilities cover the general running of the office dealing with financial management, billing, HR, property management, and regulatory compliance.
